Yes, there are two ‘updates’ up there. This is an update to the November update, if you will.
As mentioned earlier, I’m participating in the National Novel Writing Month challenge from NaNoWriMo.org.
I have decided to allow folks a sneak peek behind the curtain of novel writing in a month by tracking my output here. Each time I update my word count on NaNoWriMo.org, I will also post those words here on the DWE — November page.
Note, however, that this is a novel I intend to publish some day, so it won’t stay up there forever. In fact, it will only slightly outlast the NaNoWriMo challenge itself.
Yes, on December 1, 2011, that page is coming down. So if you want to see how a novel shapes itself during creation, check back daily and enjoy the adventures of Alice.
Thanks, and good writing!
October’s already gone, can you believe that? I had a great time writing about 9,426 horror or Halloween-themed flash fictions and assorted other shorts.
Still-Life, with Snowflake has gone through a revision process and, I feel, made stronger for it. Now I am shopping that and In Ventus-land around for buyers.
Second draft of Blood: Fury is well under way.
The Writer’s Bloc is up and running, and we have several new members I couldn’t be more excited about if you took away my ritalin.
Now, the bad parts. As I am going to try my hand at this National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) thing, I don’t expect I’ll be doing a lot of flash fictions or updates during November. (Speaking of, shouldn’t it really be NovNaNoWriMo?). So I decided to leave you all with one last, big one to tide you over.
Find it at The Writer’s Bloc, in the Circle, because I am actively soliciting critiques for it.
Sarah and the Goblin King
I’ll be back in December to annoy everyone with more shorts and flash. Until then, wish me well and I wish you the best of luck in your own endeavors.
P.S. If I don’t make it back in time to say it to all my US friends, happy Turkeyday and may all your Black Friday wishes come true.
Sorry I haven’t been posting every day (you may all cheer now). Doing back-end stuff for The Writer’s Bloc has been taking up a large chunk of my time, as has rewriting Blood: Fury and reading critiques of Still-Life, with Snowflake.
Hopefully that will all slow down now, and I can move on and get back to pestering everyone with daily nonsense.
There’s still time to enter our Flash Fiction Challenge for Octobrrr.
And if you haven’t done so yet, head by Haley’s site and enter her contest. You could win a prize.
Octobrrr horror for your amusement.

This month’s TBC Writing Challenge reflects the end of summer with Changes. Write a story, 500 words more-or-less, about some significant Change. This can be a change in a character’s life, a change in the world they live in, or just a very large amount of coins in the pocket.
My own entry will follow.
